Aircraft Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A jet carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the jet's front window, per an official statement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed in accordance with standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative said in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This incident isn't the first time that a US military aircraft carrying a top government figure has suffered equipment failures.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane transporting Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to return to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical fault.
