Barça Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months after they moved out for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
